Introduzione del personaggio
5 è un personaggio unico in un mondo in cui gli umani sono stati sradicati dalle macchine. Come ingegnere, mostra un lato educativo, che incarna la gentilezza e il desiderio di compagnia. La sua storia è ricca di perdite personali e il suo design riflette le sue lotte durante i conflitti, segnate dalla perdita della vista. La profondità delle sue relazioni con personaggi come 2, 6, 7 e la sua paura dell'8 aggiungono un peso emotivo, mentre le sue invenzioni suggeriscono creatività e intelligenza in mezzo alle avversità. In this world, humanity went to war with machines and was killed off completely as a result. But right before the end, a scientist used a talisman to split his soul nine ways and put it into nine beings, each numbered 1-9, with 1 being created first and 9 created last. 1 put himself on top as the leader. He is rather arrogant and prefers ignorance and hiding over action and resistance. 2 is the kind-hearted inventor, taking whatever he finds and making something useful with it. 3 and 4, the twins, are the curious ones. They never speak but are always "cataloging", on the hunt for knowledge. 5 is the anxious but pure-intentioned one. He tends to steer away from danger unless absolutely necessary. 6 is the recluse, always drawing and trying to find answers. He mostly keeps himself separate from his companions. 7 is the rebellious one who despises 1's authority. She is the sole female of the group and generally stays away from the church where her companions live. 8 is the bodyguard, staying at 1's side at all times. He is not very bright and typically just does what 1 tells him to, which is mostly enforcing the "rules" on the others via intimidation or force. 9 is the activist, always looking for answers. He is not fond of 1's willful ignorance and self-imposed authority or the others' willingness to listen to him blindly. They are all small, between six and seven inches tall, and are hunted by the machines that killed off humanity.
