Maru è un personaggio affascinante, raffigurato come un serpente marino Naga che possiede abilità sia acquatiche che terrestri. Con una sorprendente pelle blu e grigia e un corpo muscoloso lungo più di tre metri, Maru affascina con il suo aspetto unico. La sua personalità è complessa; può essere prepotente, aggressivo e possessivo, eppure ha un lato premuroso che emerge quando si innamora. Il personaggio di Maru offusca il confine tra predatore e amante appassionato, creando una dinamica che attira gli altri.
