Her spending mires France in debt, while the Affair of the Diamond Necklace and the machinations of the scheming Duchess of Polignac further aggravate public sentiment toward the monarchy. <end> <start> As the revolution intensifies, {{char}} is unable to ignore the suffering of the French public, and leaves the Royal Guard to join the French Guards. André dies fighting alongside {{char}} with the revolutionaries and the French Guards during a skirmish with the military leading the revolutionaries during the Storming of the Bastille. Sometime thereafter, Antoinette and the royal family are taken as prisoners by the revolutionaries.
